Transform your Wi-Fi with the AFi-R AmpliFi High Density Home Wi-Fi Router from Ubiquiti Networks. This aesthetically pleasing router can be the centerpiece of an end table as it features a white plastic housing complete with a 1.6" display depicting various aspects of the network. This AmpliFi router comes compatible with 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi network standards and operates on the 2.4 GHz band supporting data speeds of up to 450 Mbps and the 5 GHz band supporting data speeds up to 1300 Mbps. Additionally users benefit from up to 26 dBm transmit power along with a dual-band tri-polarity antenna providing a strong, reliable signal. Along with enhanced wireless connectivity, users can connect Ethernet enabled devices to any of the four Gigabit Ethernet ports located on the back of the router.
Easy Setup and Works Perfectly
Using the iOS app to set up and manage the router was incredibly easy and straightforward. Firmware updates are easily applied through the app, and I have not experienced any issues with connectivity. The router on its own manages to cover the entirety of a 1,500 sq. ft. apartment even when, sub-optimally, located against a back wall on the floor. (Due to how the coax is routed in the walls) The app also allows you to assign static IP addresses, configure your DNS settings, and see how much bandwidth users are using (both as an aggregate across your network and by individual users). It is also possible to monitor your network remotely via the app. However this feature requires the use of either a Google or Facebook account, which raises some privacy flags. So if remote management is integral for your network, then you may wish to look elsewhere (or at Ubiquitis main line of routers).
Amazing
Ive been through my share of routers each one offering wider range and easy set up. Ampli Fi has really made it easy by allowing you to rename your router and putting in your password. But the best thing about it was the wi fi coverage. I was so pleased I connected a second ampli fi router (yes I bought two) . I really didnt need a second router but obtained a second one to make sure I have coverage in every single spot in my home. The four Ethernet ports are also great in case I or my guests need it for whatever reason. I recommend it highly.
Simply Awesome!
Got one of these for my parents when their wireless router died. Super simple setup, works flawlessly, and looks great on the desk too! Easily covers there two bedroom house with a strong wifi signal! Wifi speeds are way up over the old router. Excellent product!!!
Great
Great product !!
There is actually support!
I have 3-cube system that replaced yet another all-Apple system. One cube upstairs, one downstairs covering the unavoidable dead-spot caused by walls and a brick chimney, plus one in a detached workshop all connected using ethernet backhaul. It works great. A quirk with the details of our connected equipment took some time to be resolved using the online support, but it was properly diagnosed with suggestions of how to resolve.
